1.Introduction to Shaoyang University
Founded in 1958, Shaoyang University is a provincial public undergraduate university with enrollment qualifications for Master’s degree graduates and international students. It is situated in Shaoyang city of Hunan province, a famous cultural city with a history of over 2500 years. This fertile land with rich humanistic connotations has nurtured Cai E, the democratic revolutionist who “rebuilt the republic”, He Luting, the People’s Musician, and Wei Yuan, the thinker who “first looked out into the world” and so on. It also boasts Lang Mountain, a picturesque World Natural Heritage and National Geological Park, and splendid non-material cultural heritages, including Baoqing Bamboo Engraving, Shaoyang Puppet Show, Tantou New Year Paintings and so on.
The university now has four campus, respectively in Lizi Yuan, Qili Ping, Xihu and Jiangbei, covering a total area of 1582 thousand square meters. And its school buildings occupy an area of 823.1 thousand square meters. The University has a beautiful environment and excellent conditions of teaching, academic research and living. The university now has 23 schools with two Master’s programs (Mechanical Engineering and Food Engineering). It has 56 undergraduate programs with faculties in science, engineering, humanities, law, medicine, history, philosophy, economics, management, education and art. The full-time students total 27294. It has a staff of 3841—— 198 with high professional titles(including professors and chief physicians), 770 with deputy high professional titles(including associate professors and associate chief physicians), and 406 with the titles of doctor(including doctoral students). The university hires Professor Li Guojie, the academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, as the honorary president and part-time professor, and many foreign teachers are hired throughout the year.
The university has actively carried out international exchanges and cooperation, and established various forms of cooperation and exchange relationships with universities of the United Kingdom, the United States, Malaysia and other countries. It has two joint programs under the Ministry of Education. Since 2015, the university has begun to recruit international students.

4.3 Other Fees
① Medical exam fee: about RMB 500 yuan/ per person/ per year;
② Insurance fee: RMB 800 yuan/ per person/ per year;

④ Learning material fee: about RMB 1000 yuan/ per person/ per year.
5. Requirements for Applicants
5.1 Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health without contagious diseases or any physical or mental diseases that may affect the normal study. Applicants are required to abide by China’s law and the regulations of the university and encouraged to achieve high standards of excellence.
5.2 Applicants for Bachelor’s degree education must be between 18-30 years old, and have graduated from high school or have the same educational level. The HSK4 score should be 180 and above.(If you do not have corresponding certificates, you need to study Chinese for one year. Only those who meet the requirements of HSK4 can apply.)
5.3 Applicants for language training must be between 18-30 years old, and have graduated from high school or have the same educational level.
5.4 Applicants are supposed to download the application form from the official website （http://www1.hnsyu.net/wygjxy/） and submit the following documents before June 15, 2021:
① A copy of the passport information page;
② Completed application form;
③ Notarized degree certificates and official transcripts;
④ Certificate of HSK4(required for degree applicants);
⑤ Proof of study and academic transcript from the institution affiliated(required for the applicants who have studied in China);
⑥ Foreign Physical Examination Form;
⑦ Non-criminal record;
⑧ Bank statement.
The above materials can be mailed to the International College of Shaoyang University, or scanned and emailed to the International College of Shaoyang University (E-mail:838522677@qq.com). The original of the text should be submitted at the time of enrollment. If you are a transfer student, you must provide the transfer certificate from the original school when registering. Excellent applicants will be admitted and informed as soon as possible.

7. Scholarships:
Students who meet the Shaoyang University Scholarship Evaluation Measures for International Students can apply:
7.1 Type A scholarships are used to reward Chinese language students. The scholarship is used for the reduction and exemption of the tuition fee. The quota of people is ten.
7.2 Type B scholarships are used to reward undergraduate education students in the first academic year. There are three levels of rewards for living expenses, which will be granted for no more than 10 months each year:
The first prize:1500 yuan/person/month; Quota: 4
The second prize:900 yuan/person/month; Quota: 6
The third prize:600 yuan/person/month; Quota: 10
7.3 Type C scholarships are used to reward qualified undergraduate education students from the second to the fourth/fifth academic years. The scholarships involve the reduction and exemption of the tuition fee and the grant of living expenses. There are three levels of rewards for living expenses, which will be granted for no more than 10 months each year:
The first prize:1500 yuan/person/month;
The second prize:900 yuan/person/month;
The third prize:600 yuan/person/month;
